10YO: Progressive Poetry

Progressive Poetry in the 10s

Poetry in the 10s has been an ongoing and engaging process for the students this year. Open all year, the poetry unit has sought to connect with the children’s real life experiences both in and out of school. Students have created diamanté poems about characters from the book Wonder, concrete poems about endangered animals (linked with science) and haikus about field trips. They have also created rhyming couplets about holidays, plus a very detailed acrostic poem about their drama showcase, Mission Implausible.
