2YO: Little Learners on the Move: Zoo Animals Come to Life in Sunflower Class

The Sunflower 2-year-olds have been excited to learn about zoo animals this week through fun, hands-on activities. The children enjoyed using puppets to play and interact with one another, and they practiced their fine motor skills by making elephant trunks with beads.

After reading Elmer, the Patchwork Elephant, the children painted their own colorful Elmer elephants, and they also engaged in solving animal puzzles, building their thinking and matching skills.

During movement time, they carefully walked on the balance beam, trying not to “fall into the crocodiles,” jumped like kangaroos, and loved singing and acting out “Five Little Monkeys” together. We also measured how tall we are and compared our height to a giraffe, wondering if we could be as tall as one!

It has been a joyful time of learning through play, music, and movement!
