3YO: Exploring 'Safe Me' with Big Curiosity

This week, our Little Tulips have been joyfully diving into the “Safe and Healthy Me” unit, with a special focus on the theme “Safe Me.” At three years old, children are naturally curious and eager to do things on their own. While they still rely on adult guidance, they’re beginning to take more responsibility for their own well-being. As we introduced safety rules, their excitement to learn and apply these new skills has been heartwarming.

Traffic Safety. We started the week by learning about traffic safety. The children practiced stopping at crosswalks, looking both ways before crossing, and recognizing important signs, such as stop and pedestrian signals. These lessons help them understand how to stay safe near roads and when walking with adults.

Playground Rules. Next, we explored how to stay safe while playing. We discussed taking turns on the slide, using equipment properly, and being mindful of others around us. Practicing these rules helps the children enjoy playtime while keeping themselves and their friends safe.

Classroom Safety. In the classroom, we focused on safe behavior like walking instead of running, using materials gently, and keeping our hands to ourselves. These rules create a calm and secure environment where everyone can learn and play happily.

Forest Safety. To prepare for our first forest exploration of the year, we introduced forest safety. The children learned to stay with the group, listen carefully to their teachers, and respect nature. These skills will help them enjoy outdoor adventures while staying safe and connected.

Each day has brought new opportunities for our Little Tulips to grow in confidence and care. Their enthusiasm for safety is blooming beautifully!
