3YO: Little Tulips on a Wild Adventure: Exploring Animals and Habitats

The week before Spring Break, we began a new unit, “Animals.” Children are naturally fascinated by animals, and over the past few weeks, the Little Tulips have been exploring different habitats, including the zoo, farm, and ocean.

Last week, we focused on zoo animals, which originate from a variety of natural environments such as the jungle, forest, prairies, and ocean. In class, we read stories about animals, learned new vocabulary, sang songs, and created artwork inspired by this theme. The children especially enjoyed sharing their thoughts about their favorite animals and discussing how they live in different habitats.

Through these activities, we also encouraged the development of language skills, curiosity, and observation. The children practiced describing animals, identifying their characteristics, and comparing where they live.

On Tuesday, we visited the zoo, where the children had the opportunity to see real animals and connect what we learned in class with the world around them. It was a wonderful hands-on experience, and the children were excited to recognize animals they had learned about and observe their behaviors up close.

We look forward to continuing our exploration of animals in the coming weeks.
