4YO: A Week Full of Farmyard Fun in Dandelions!

4YO: A Week Full of Farmyard Fun in Dandelions!

This week, the Dandelions explored the exciting world of farming and farm animals! In dramatic play, students took on the roles of farmers while enjoying our barn and stable stations. During math activities, they compared weight measurements using beans, lentils, and dried corn. Students also matched shapes, and practiced counting by placing the correct number of animals into their matching barns. For literacy, students strengthened their letter recognition skills by matching letters on farming themed mats. Fine motor development was encouraged as children carefully transferred corn between silos using small scoops. Students practiced creativity by turning basic shapes into farm animals. In our duck pond sensory bin, students had fun playing games that involved matching numbers while engaging their senses. It was a week full of hands-on learning, creativity, and fun on Dandelion farm!
