4YO: Worms, Leaves, and Learning: Composting with the Daisy Class

The 4YO Daisy class has been working very hard on making compost as part of their contribution to the Innovation Fair.

The children were incredibly enthusiastic as they collected leaves from the forest and tore up cardboard to create the base layer for our compost. Many children also brought food scraps from home, which made the project even more meaningful and exciting for them.

The most fun and fascinating part of the project was learning all about earthworms and how important they are in helping compost break down. We went outside into our garden to see if we could find some earthworms, and to our surprise, we found so many! The children absolutely loved searching for them, gently picking them up, and adding them to our compost bin.

This little project has brought so much joy, curiosity, and hands-on learning to our classroom, and the children have had a wonderful time being little environmental helpers.
