6YO: Cleaning Up Our Coasts: Young Changemakers in Action

Our 6-year-old learners enjoyed a meaningful field trip to the beach where they explored water pollution firsthand through observation, discussion, and action. Using strong collaboration and communication skills, students worked together to clean the beach and sort items into natural materials and manmade trash. They discussed how litter reaches the ocean through people, wind, and waterways, and made important connections about how pollution affects marine animals and their habitats. Through thoughtful conversations and hands-on learning, students also used their creativity to brainstorm ways they can help protect the environment. This experience inspired responsibility, teamwork, and care for our planet and oceans.
