6YO: Sound and Light
The students in 6MW are learning about sound and light in science. This week the student investigated how silly sounds are created for cartoons. They were surprised by some of the materials and methods used to make the vibration that resulted in a silly sound. Students tried their hand at producing sounds for a cartoon rainstorm and bouncing ball. They used body percussion to produce the sound of wind, light rain, and thunder. Students used a ruler to make the sound of a ball bouncing across the floor. During this lesson, students learned that all sound is a result of vibration. They are looking forward to learning more about the science of sound and light in the upcoming weeks.
