7YO: Plants, Animals, and Engineering

The 7YO OL class wrapped up their study of Science Unit E03: Plants and Animals Together with an engineering design challenge: how to build a better birdfeeder? Students first learned about different kinds of birds. What do they eat? How do they like to perch? What other animals are their predators? Then, they each designed a birdfeeder specific to a chosen bird species. Students used collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking to meet this challenge. Our future is in good hands with these budding scientists!
