We Are Poets! We Just Didn’t Know It!

Switching gears from writing facts about yourself in plain language to using poetic language to describe things is difficult. But the students in 7PW accepted the challenge.

They each produced 3 poems: one shape poem, one free verse, and one haiku. Each student also read a poem from a published poet. Every morning, we listened to poems by Shel Silverstein and other child friendly authors.

Finding their inner muse was challenging, but creativity surfaced and provided insight into each student’s inner being.
