8YO: The Terrific Tigers are Working Hard

Along with lots of learning these few first weeks the 8-year-olds have taught Ms. Brown tons about what it means to be a terrific TIS tiger! In Math we are developing mental math strategies, focusing on addition and subtraction with up to three-digit numbers. Our Cultural Studies have taken us around the world as we make global connections and dive into the relationship between geography and culture. The 8-year-olds are working hard to grow their reading and writing skills in Literacy. We are applying our inference skills to answer questions about text and composing informational paragraphs (about turtles, Turkey and skiing - just to name a few!).
