8YO: Vahid Haka Reads: Young Authors, Big Hearts

Students in Mrs. D’s 8-year-old class recently celebrated an exciting achievement: writing and publishing their very own book based on their library project at Vahid Haka School. As part of a meaningful service learning experience, this project connected their learning across Cultural Studies, Literacy, and TIS's Success Orientations. From the earliest stages of illustrating their ideas to developing their writing, students thoughtfully documented their experiences and reflected on the impact of creating a welcoming library space for others. The final published book showcases not only their creativity and growth as writers and illustrators, but also their empathy, collaboration, and commitment to making a difference in their community.
