Lengthen the Adjectives You Use to Describe Chestnut Bread

In unit E03, the 8YO and 9YO Native German students learned all about adjectives, checking the spelling of adjective by lengthening them, and that the endings of adjectives change depending on the sentences and grammatical category of the noun. Since that clearly doesn't sound very exciting, we applied what we learned by reading about types of grains such as wheat, barley, corn, or oats, drawing them as people and composing funny poems about them. To make it more hands-on, Mr. Kienzle then brought in different types of flour from different grains, which we baked into bread buns. And since some of these were, well, less suitable than others for baking tasty bread, we had plenty of opportunities to find fitting adjectives for them, positive and negative.
