ELEM, MS, and SEC: Mr. West's PE Classes
Mr. West's secondary PE has just moved from handball to badminton. We now have 4 badminton courts in place at the covered court. Soon, we will begin a doubles tournament with the class.
Mr. West's 9s, 10s, and 12s have been moving into a new unit and learning a new game - speedball. This game includes aspects of basketball, ultimate frisbee, and football all in one.
The 6s and 7s have also been learning a new game - ultimate frisbee. We have been working hard on our aim while throwing, being able to catch (even with defenders), and quickly finding someone else to throw to. We just finished handball, so that laid a great foundation for ultimate frisbee skills.
The 5s are not quite ready for games like handball, ultimate frisbee, or speedball, but they have also been working on their coordination by throwing frisbees to a partner, using scoops and balls to throw and catch on their own and with a partner, and using pickleball paddles to see how many consecutive times they can hit a ball up.
We are all learning and improving our skills each day.
