ELEM: Our First Week of Discovery and Fun

ELEM: Our First Week of Discovery and Fun

Even though we are still waiting for a few more friends to join us in September, Mrs. Williams and Ms. Entela's 6-year-old class is already off to a wonderful start! We have been learning, exploring, and having fun together throughout our first week.

We have taken our clipboards outside to observe nature like scientists, making careful observations of the world around us. Inside the classroom, we have been using our clipboards during our “Writing the Room” activity. Students have been sounding out CVC picture cards hidden around the room and writing the matching words on their recording sheets. It has been exciting to see their enthusiasm and growing confidence as young readers and writers.

As we get to know one another through our All About Me Brown Paper Bag activity, we are discovering so many interesting things about our classmates. Did you know that we have a hockey player among us? That is just one of the many unique things we have learned about each other so far!

There is still so much for us to learn about one another and the world around us. I know this is only the beginning of a wonderful year filled with growth, friendship, and exciting discoveries as we learn and grow together as a class.
