ELEM: Word-Building Games in Literacy

This past week in Literacy Support, we focused on key spelling rules and phonics skills to help students improve their reading and writing. We introduced the rule for spelling the /k/ sound in the middle of words, teaching when to use "c," "ck," or "k" based on the surrounding vowels. The students practiced this through interactive activities and word-building games. We also worked on reinforcing their phonemic awareness by identifying and blending sounds in words, which is helping to build their confidence in both reading and spelling. Overall, it was a productive week filled with hands-on learning!
