Back-to-Back Champions!

A huge congratulations to the TIS Middle School girls basketball team for claiming first place in the TAIS Middle School Tournament — for the second year in a row! The team secured impressive wins against World Academy Tirana, GDQ International Christian School, and Albanian College Tirana. Way to go, TIS Tigers!

MS Girls take 2nd at CEESA Tournament

Congratulations to the MS Girls Basketball team for their impressive 2nd place finish at the CEESA tournament in Baku, Azerbaijan! The team battled fierce competition from Istanbul International Community School, The International School of Azerbaijan, QSI Baku, and the International School of Belgrade. In a nail-biting final against IICS, the girls fell just one point short of the championship title. In addition to their hard-fought games, the team had the opportunity to explore Baku — discovering its rich history and charm while wandering through the Old City. It was a memorable blend of sports and culture!

MS Boys Basketball in Belgrade

The MS Boys Basketball team travelled to Belgrade, Serbia for the annual CEESA tournament. Throughout their four days away, the boys shared many memorable experiences, starting with a very hearty Serbian meal at a local restaurant on the first night. Competing against five other schools from the region, the teams had a very busy two days at the International School of Belgrade. TIS won two matches and lost two. Highlights were our victories against the Anglo-American School from Sofia, Bulgaria and the narrow loss to our friends from QSI Tbilisi, Georgia. The team ended their trip with a rewarding visit to Galerija Mall. The team has made significant progress with their understanding of the game of basketball, in particularly how to organise themselves in attack and defense. Perhaps more importantly, the boys have bonded, shown sportsmanship and learned how to play selflessly for the benefit of the team.
