Greetings Middle School and Secondary Families and Students! 

Here is what's happening with our Middle School and Secondary students:

Week Without Walls

As we are almost into the 4th Quintile, June will be here before we know it! That means it is already time to think about Week Without Walls.

Week Without Walls is a chance for our students to get out of the classroom, see some new sights, work as a team, test their limits, and have an adventure! 

The Middle School trips are preplanned and will be within driving distance of Tirana. Three chaperones will accompany the students from Tuesday, 10 June through Friday, 13 June, so the students will be staying three nights. The 11 yos will go to Berat, the 12s to Permet, and the 13s just across the border into Kosovo. 

For Secondary, trips will be proposed and students will have a choice of where they want to go. A preliminary form will be sent out to students to see what they are interested in. When it is time to sign up, Secondary III students will choose first, then Secondary IIs, then Secondary Is. Two or three chaperones will accompany the students from 15 June - 19 June. (Dates will be specific for each trip, but will not return later than 19 June.)

There will be a 200 Euro deposit required for students planning to attend Secondary Trips.

This past week, Middle School students were introduced to the trips for their grade levels, Secondary students were introduced to the possible trips proposed by their teachers, and the parent meeting was held, informing parents about the trips and the process.

Next week, Secondary students will choose trips through Schoolsbuddy during their lunch break starting on Monday. 

• SEC III student sign up - Monday, 10 March at 11:10 (closes at 23:59)
• SEC II student sign up - Tuesday, 11 March at 11:10 (closes at 23:59)
• SEC I student sign up - Wednesday,12 March at 11:10 (closes at 23:59)

Once sign ups are closed, trips will be finalized. 

On Monday, 17 March, trip agreements will be passed out to students for their specific trip. For Secondary, these, along with the 200 Euro deposit will be due Friday, 21 March. The rest of the payment will be due on 4 April.

For Middle School, trip agreements will be passed out next week and are due on 21 March with full payment due on 4 April. 

Here are the links to the two Week Without Walls presentations. Information about all trips is found in these. Some payments are not finalized, but will be similar to what is shown on the presentation.

I am still waiting for confirmation of total cost for the 12 yo trip, but I would think it will be around 400-450 or less.

Arrival/Dismissal:

We are still seeing many students arriving after 8:00am in the morning. I have been running "Tardy Sweeps" at 8:00am for any students arriving to school after 8:00am. This means that I meet directly with the students and discuss reasons why they are late. We are asking for your help to get all students to school on time!

Please work with us to get your students to school by 7:50 so they have time to arrive to class prior to 8:00am. Thank you! 

Dismissal is at 3:20pm daily (unless you are informed otherwise). 

If your student rides the bus and the bus arrives late, your student will not be counted tardy.

ASAs:

Session 3 Begins on 28 April: 

If you student rides the bus, they will be put on a late bus for ASAs. If you student is not a bus rider, but needs a late bus home from ASAs, please contact Blerta Sadiku at blerta-sadiku@tirana.qsi.org.
