Message from Mr. Tempel 10/4

Greetings Middle School and Secondary Families and Students! 

Here is what's happening with our Middle School and Secondary students:!

MAP Testing

All Middle School students and Secondary students up to Writing/Literature II and Geometry will test in the Fall and Spring in Math, Reading, and Language Usage. IE students, Math 12 students, and those requesting tests will test in the Winter.

• Fall: 16 September-25 October 2024 (6-week window after around 4 weeks of instruction)
• Winter: 13 January – 14 February 2025 (5-week window after around 20 weeks of instruction)
• Spring: 14 April – 23 May 2025 (6-week window after around 32 weeks of instruction)
• Summer: 16 June – 18 July 2025

Here are the MAP tests that will be taking place next week:

Make up MAP testing will take place the week of 7 October - 11 October. I will be pulling out groups of students to take or finish any tests that are not complete. 

 

PSAT - Wednesday, 9 October

• For all SEC I, SEC II, and SEC III students
• 8:00-11:10
• Online testing 
• This is a practice SAT in a real-life testing situation.

 

FALL BREAK - 14-18 October!

 

Quintile 1 Ends - Monday, 21 October

Quintile 2 Begins - Tuesday, 22 October

 

Family/Teacher Conferences:

• ​​​​​​​Wednesday, 30 October
• Wednesday, 6 November

Arrival/Dismissal:

We are still seeing many students arriving after 8:00am in the morning. I will be sending emails home next week to those who have multiple tardies to school.

Please work with us to get your students to school by 7:50 so they have time to arrive to class prior to 8:00am. Thank you! 

Dismissal is at 3:20pm daily (unless you are informed otherwise). 

If your student rides the bus and the bus arrives late, your student will not be counted tardy.

For ASAs:

If you student rides the bus, they will be put on a late bus for ASAs. If you student is not a bus rider, but needs a late bus home from ASAs, please contact Blerta Sadiku at blerta-sadiku@tirana.qsi.org.
