Message from Mrs. Holmquist 3/13

Dear Secondary Parents,

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Parent Coffee on March 11th. It was great to see so many of you there and to have the chance to talk through the different pathways to graduation. We really appreciate your engagement and thoughtful questions. And a special thank‑you to Ms. Rech for leading such an informative session.

Right now, eleven of our teachers (myself included) are in Sofia attending the 2026 CEESA Conference, “The Heart and Art of Teaching.” The conference focuses on the balance between the craft of teaching and the relationships that make learning meaningful. We’re already coming away with practical strategies and new ideas that we’re excited to bring back to TIS. 

Parent–Teacher Conferences are just around the corner on April 1st and 8th. You can sign up for meetings with teachers through SchoolsBuddy. If you’d like a longer conversation about academic planning or your child’s progress, you’re welcome to schedule an individual meeting with Ms. Rech or with me.

As we head into Spring Break, we wish all of our families a safe, restful, and happy holiday. We also send our best wishes for a joyful Nevruz.
