Message from Ms. Carmen 11/14

Dear parents,

We have had another lovely week in preschool, where the 4-year-olds have been actively exploring various community helpers and understanding the importance and value of each helper. This theme extended into their PE classes where an obstacle course of putting out fires were met with great fun and skill! The 3-year-olds have been discussing their extended family, while the 2-year-olds had some pet visitors belonging to the school in their class - Carla the guinea pig and a goldfish. They enjoyed looking at their 'home' and how to care for them, learning parts of the fish/animal and feeding them. STEM introduced a little robotic ball that, once a shape was mapped out, would move in the mapped-out directions and create the shape with a paintbrush attached to it. Lots of joy and curiosity was sparked. Mr Alban has been practicing for the Winter sing-along with the students along with some creative musical games during music sessions.

* Winter sing-along: We have our winter sing-along with parents taking place on Thursday 18 December at 9am in the Multi-Purpose room. Parents must please drop children off at the normal time (before 8:30am) so they can get prepared in their classes. Parents can enter the MPR room at 9am and join their child/children on the carpets. Dress code: red, green, white colorsPlease make sure that at least one parent or adult representative from the family can be there so no child is left without a 'big person' to sing to/with. After the sing-along each class will have a little party in their classes with parents, to celebrate the end of 2025 together. Please bring something to share with the others. Your class teacher will send out more info as well.

* Late arrivals: We have noticed many students continue to arrive after 8:30am. It is getting increasingly disturbing, especially for the 4-year-old classes to have continuous disruptions during their morning sessions where Launchpad (the pre-reading program) and theme discussions/ instructions for the day take place. Please ensure your child arrives at school before 8:30am. Thank you.

* Book donations: We have a book donation drive happening. If you have any Albanians or English storybooks to donate, please send them with your child to add to the donation box.

* No school: Next week Friday 21 November, there is no school due to staff professional development. Monday, 24 November is a national holiday - Alphabet Day and school will be closed as well.

Have a lovely weekend.

Warm regards,
