Message from Ms. Carmen 4/17

Dear preschool families,

Our preschool has been buzzing with mystery readers, field trips, tortoises in the forest, and lots of fun this week. We are so happy that so many parents have volunteered to be mystery readers and are still volunteering. Please ensure that you have completed the child protection training in full through Ms Egla before coming in to read. Thank you for helping us fill our food bank bin! Preschool got a popcorn party to celebrate and had a wonderful time enjoying it during Fantastic Friday with Friends.

Our 2yo classes went to the botanical gardens on a field trip this week and had a wonderful time observing the flowers and plants, seeing what insects live in the plants and grass, and enjoyed a little picnic with their friends and teachers.

Here are some events coming up still:

Reports Term 2:

Preschool reports for term 2 will going out today. Please note that the skills were shown during the student - led conferences. Term 3 reports will come out at the end of the school year.

International night:

We have our TIS International Fair coming up on the 22nd of May. It is a wonderful event for our TIS families to see how many different countries are represented in our school and to join communities together. Please follow the guidelines in the newsletters to join your country's group to contribute towards or help run the booth and to sign up for wristbands allowing your family to enter the fair.

Preschool coffee chat:

Our last preschool coffee chat will take place in May - date to be determined still. I will go through what to expect next year as your child moves to the next age group, classes, and teacher expectations. Afterwards, grab a cup of coffee and if you have time to join me in our forest, we will take a short walk there to see this special part of our school.

Book exchange:

If your child brings in a gently used picture book, story book, chapter book, other language book, they will be able to exchange it with another of the same type. Books can start coming in to the class teachers who will keep tabs on who has brought what.

Warm regards,
Carmen Meyer
