Message from Ms. Carmen 5/15

Dear preschool families,

I hope you all had a good week. A huge thank you to the parents who took the time to join our last preschool coffee chat for the year. I hope you have a better understanding of the curriculum in each class, what TSWs mean, how their day looks, what Launchpad in 4yos is about, how classes mix and change each year and teachers too. It was very special going for a walk to the forest to show you where explorations take place and you could see the peaceful area created for your children to explore, play and be in nature.

I do hope that next year we will have more parents join these information mornings - there is always something new to learn and discuss.

Our 2yo classes had a very exciting fieldtrip to the Military museum to see some helicopters and other forms of transportation. The got to 'fix' some broken helicopters and explore how they look inside.

Please take note of the following:

Summer sing-along:

SAVE THE DATE! Tuesday June 16th we will have our summer sing-along where we invite parents to join us in the morning for this special occasion. We ask parents to bring a finger food to share for after where we can socialize a little and reflect on the year. Students should arrive at school the normal time, 7:45 - 8:00, to settle in, have snack and prepare with their class to meet you in the MPR room (as we did for the winter singalong). We plan to start at 9am and everything should be finished around 10:30 (including the socializing after the singalong).

International night:

We have our TIS International Fair coming up on the 22nd of May. It is a wonderful event for our TIS families to see how many different countries are represented in our school and to join communities together. Please read the information provided by the school carefully. Families need to sign up for a wristband to enter, and only people in the same household are allowed to attend.

There will be a bouncy castle area in the covered court next to the field that is dedicated to preschool students (ages 2 - 4), and a bouncy castle area for 5yo - 10yo at the tennis courts. We ask that if parents bring their preschoolers to jump, please stay there to supervise your child. Staff are at designated bouncy castles; to monitor how many are on at one time and to ensure the rules are abided by, however parents should still be present for their little ones and to make sure their child can find them once they have finished jumping.

Wishing you a lovely weekend ahead.

Warm regards,
Carmen Meyer
