Message from Ms. Carmen 9/4

Dear Preschool Parents,

It was lovely to see so many of you yesterday at the open house and picnic. I am sure you and your family enjoyed the time spent all together. There has been a lot of activity happening around the preschool environment from learning shapes and creating art out of different fruits in the 3-year-old classes to making faces and learning some parts of our body in the 2-year-old classes as well as continuing to get used to daily routines. The 4-year-olds are learning to draw self-portraits and engaging in activities involving the first letter of their name. We had Ms Monika start a new Exploration STEM session with the classes this week. Where the children experimented with various materials like salt and water to see which melts ice faster and to find the object inside as well as building ramps with blocks and cardboard to see how fast cars go down. In other Explorations we have explored the front grass area of the school while we enjoyed seeing some flowers, insects and singing some songs and stories together after our walks.

I would like to invite you all to my coffee chat coming up on Monday 22 September at 08:10am in the MPR room. I will be introducing a topic on the sensitive periods that children go through during their early years and how we can best support them in school and at home. It will be informal, yet informative. 😊

Wishing everyone a wonderful long and relaxing weekend!

Warm regards,
Carmen Meyer
