Message from Ms. Falkner 9/4

Dear Elementary Parents,

It’s been another great week of learning, growing, and celebrating our community. Thank you to everyone who came out to the Open House barbecue and picnic. It has been wonderful meeting so many of our families and learning more about our community.

September is a busy month for both teachers and students. Teachers will be engaged in a range of assessment activities to help us better understand each student’s instructional needs and tailor their learning experiences accordingly. We have dedicated time in our weekly schedule for teachers to differentiate instruction based on individual student needs. Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions about classroom-based assessments or differentiation.

Our students also had their Empower Kick-Off Assembly, where we reviewed the components of the Empower program and our Success Orientations. Our first Success Orientation will focus on “Group Interaction,” which connects nicely with our school theme of TOGETHER. Mrs. Mudd, our elementary counselor, has several activities planned for students to celebrate themselves, our school, and our community.

Attendance
Attendance is an important part of a student’s education. Thank you for helping us by making sure your child is present and on time each day!

Personal Devices
Smartwatches are considered personal devices and must stay in a student’s bag during school hours. If you need to reach your child during the school day, please contact Reception. Students will not be allowed to send or receive messages on their personal devices during the school day.

Together in Education,

Kathy Falkner

Elementary Director of Instruction
