Message from Ms. Meredith 10/9

Dear TIS Families,

πŸ‚ Gearing Up for Fall Break!

What a wonderful week it has been across our Elementary! As we wrap up this short week and prepare for Fall Break, classrooms have been buzzing with excitement, learning, and community spirit. Students and teachers have worked hard, celebrated one another, and truly demonstrated our Success Orientations in action. Everyone has earned a well-deserved rest next week! 🍁

πŸ’™ Blue Shirt Day – Stomp Out Bullying!

This week, our school joined together in a sea of blue to take a stand against bullying for Blue Shirt Day: Stomp Out Bullying.

Our cheerleaders led a powerful cheer to kick off the event, and the entire school came together to sing “Count on Me.” It was a heartwarming reminder that when we choose kindness and inclusion, we create a community where everyone feels safe and valued. πŸ’ͺπŸ’™

🌱 Learning Beyond the Classroom

It’s been an exciting week of learning outside the classroom!

Our 10-year-olds explored Agral Organic Farm, discovering how plants grow and learning about composting as part of their Science curriculum.

Our 9-year-olds visited Mrizi i Zanave, where they connected their Cultural Studies and Science units on sustainability to real-world practices. Students saw firsthand how people, businesses, and communities work together to protect natural resources and sustain a healthy environment—all while enjoying delicious locally made food! 🌿

πŸ‘©‍🏫 Parent-Teacher Conferences

When we return from break, we’ll be holding Parent-Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, October 22, and Wednesday, October 29. These meetings provide a valuable opportunity to discuss student progress and set goals for the rest of the semester. Please be sure to sign up through SchoolsBuddy to secure your preferred time—conference slots tend to fill quickly!

Supporting Responsibility at Home

This month, we are focusing on Responsibility. Here are a few simple ways you can reinforce this Success Orientation with your child at home:

  • Give your child small daily responsibilities (feeding a pet, setting the table).

  • Encourage them to take ownership of homework and packing their school bag.

  • Model responsible behavior by showing how you keep commitments and follow routines.

  • Praise effort and follow-through, not just results.

We wish all our students, families, and staff a wonderful Fall Break filled with rest, family time, and fun!

Warmest regards,

Mrs. Meredith
