Message from Ms. Meredith 1/17
Greetings TIS Families!
I wanted to take a moment to share some of the highlights of my week at our wonderful school. It has been filled with so many inspiring moments that I’m excited to pass along!
The week began with a heartwarming experience as I had the privilege of hearing poetry from some of our talented students. Their creativity and thoughtfulness in expressing themselves through words was truly impressive. It is always a joy to see our students embracing their voices and sharing their perspectives with confidence.
Later that morning, I visited some of our older students as they continued their work on informational writing. It was incredible to witness their growth as writers and thinkers. The depth of their research, the structure of their essays, and their ability to communicate complex ideas were impressive. I can’t wait to see how their projects evolve over the coming weeks.
Later, I had the opportunity to visit one of our classes to teach a brief lesson about my ancestors immigrating to America. It was such a meaningful conversation as we discussed the importance of understanding our personal histories and how each family’s journey shapes who we are. The students were curious, engaged, and full of insightful questions that made me proud to be part of their learning process.
At lunch, I sat with our younger students, where we shared some great conversation. Their enthusiasm for the day’s events and their curiosity about the world around them reminds me of the importance of fostering community and connection at every age. Whether they were excited about a book they had just read or sharing stories from their own lives, I felt lucky to be part of their world for a brief time.
As always, I am reminded of how fortunate we are to be a part of such a vibrant and dedicated school community. Our students continue to inspire me every day, and I am grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside them as they learn, grow, and explore new ideas.
To close out the week, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our elementary students and teachers for showering me with notes, songs, and kind words to celebrate my birthday. Your thoughtfulness and warmth truly made my day extra special. I am deeply grateful for each of you.
As we move through the winter months, I’d also like to remind everyone that we are still seeing quite a few students coming down with illnesses. Please be mindful of sending your child to school if they are feeling unwell. If your child has symptoms of illness, we ask that you keep them home to rest and recover. This helps protect our community and ensures that everyone remains healthy and ready to learn.
Thank you for your continued support of our school and our students. Together, we are making a difference in their lives.
