Message from Ms. Meredith 4/17

Dear TIS Elementary Families,

We hope you are enjoying the beautiful spring weather and time with your families! Here are a few important updates and highlights from our elementary community:

šŸ“ MAP Testing Begins April 27

Our MAP testing window will open on April 27 at TIS. Teachers are currently finalizing their testing schedules and will communicate specific dates with you soon.

How can you support your child at home?

  • Ensure your child gets a good night’s sleep, especially before testing days
  • Provide a healthy breakfast each morning
  • Help maintain a calm, positive mindset about testing
  • Encourage your child to try their best—MAP is about growth, not perfection
  • Keep routines consistent and avoid scheduling appointments during testing times if possible

Your support makes a big difference in helping students feel confident and prepared!

šŸ¤ Group Interaction Month

We are continuing to focus on Group Interaction as part of our Success Orientations. Students are learning how to collaborate, communicate, and work effectively with others.

How can you support at home?

  • Encourage your child to work together with siblings or friends on tasks or games
  • Talk about what it means to be a good teammate
  • Practice listening skills—taking turns speaking and hearing others’ ideas
  • Ask your child to share examples of when they showed strong group interaction at school
  • Reinforce the importance of respecting different perspectives

šŸ“š Author Visit Coming Soon!

Next week, our elementary students will have the exciting opportunity to participate in an Author’s Visit! We are looking forward to inspiring our students’ love of reading and writing.

Stay tuned for next week’s newsletter, where we will share highlights and reflections from this special event!

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership.

Warmly,

Mrs. Hutson
