SEC: Shaping a Nation: U.S. History Students Study Leadership and Economic Growth

U.S. History with Mr. Shehu

Recently, U.S. History students completed an in‑depth unit on Presidential Powers and Reforms. They studied the leadership qualities outlined in Article II of the Constitution and evaluated how different presidents used their authority. Students assessed the successes and challenges of American leadership across various eras, including major movements and internal political conflicts. They compared reform periods such as the Jacksonian Era, Reconstruction, the Progressive Era, the New Deal, the Great Society, and Reagan’s New Conservatism to understand how leadership shaped the nation. Students also examined how media has influenced the presidency over time and how communication technologies impact public opinion. Currently, they are working on investigating the economic history of the USA, with a special focus on the market‑based system and the role that industrialization has played in the development of the American economy.
