SEC: TIS Girls Place Fourth at CEESA Tallinn

TIS Girls Place Fourth at CEESA Tallinn.

Nine from the Secondary Girls Volleyball Team traveled to Tallinn, Estonia for the annual CEESA tournament. Eight international school teams competed, including teams from Tallinn; Vilnius, Lithuania; Riga, Latvia; and Helsinki, Finland.

This was the first time a TIS sports team has competed in Tallinn, and the girls had so much fun exploring the medieval Tallinn Old Town — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — and the city harbor after long days of play. The competition was fierce, but our Tigers fought with everything they had to come in fourth place overall after an exciting four sets in the semifinal round. One of our CEESA team c0-captains, Eva, was selected to the All-Tournament team after leading our team through several intense and passion-filled matches. The TIS girls were consistently complimented by the other head coaches for their communication skills and strategy on the court, as well as for their grit and sportsmanship.

Head Coach Ortenca and Assistant Coach Lisa thank the parents and TIS staff for their support of another successful season of spring volleyball that showcased our 12 dedicated athletes. Also, kudos to our local league co-captains Eva and Joana, as well as our other CEESA co-captain, Emma. Special thanks to Rina Scates for her efforts to coordinate and organize the local TAIS league and the CEESA trip.
